An artist who defies classification in terms of both musical genre and voice, Magalí Sare stands out for her versatility and the quality of her performances. She is a flexible, multifaceted and unpredictable singer, with a voice full of nuance.
Magalí Sare made her solo debut in 2018 with Cançons d’amor i dimonis, a blend of jazz and pop produced by Vic Moliner and Panxii Badii. In 2020, she released two duo albums: A boy & a girl, with guitarist Sebastià Gris, a record combining classical, folk and electronic music, produced by David Soler, which earned them the Jazz Award from Juventudes Musicales de España and first prize at SUNS Europe, a festival devoted to music in minority languages; and Fang i Núvols, with double bassist Manel Fortià. In 2022, she released her second album as a singer-songwriter, Esponja, produced by Pau Brugada and Sare herself, featuring collaborations with Salvador Sobral and Las Migas. In 2023, she presented reTORNAR, her second project with Manel Fortià, in which they experiment with imaginary musical fusions drawing on Ibero-American folk traditions and inspired by sea voyages and cultural exchange.
In 2026, she will present her third singer-songwriter album, Descasada, which will receive a preview performance at Fira Mediterrània. The project is the result of three years of research into songs from different origins, periods and countries, offering a wide range of perspectives on women and marriage. It is an openly feminist work that aims to foster solidarity among women through ancient and contemporary stories of women fighting to take control of their own destiny.
She can also be heard on Clara Peya’s album Estómac (2018) and as the soprano of Quartet Mèlt on the albums Maletes (2016) and Xarrampim! (2017). With the group, she won TV3’s television competition Oh Happy Day. In addition, in 2020 she provided the vocals for Estrella Damm’s renowned summer advertising campaign.
